  Brassieres Lingerie

The term brassiere or bra for short is an article of clothing that covers the breasts. They also support and lift them so your clothes fit and look better. The bra is an undergarment but it is called the foundation garment. The reason being is that it shapes the woman’s body to fit the clothes properly. Bras were created in the late 19th century and the early 20th century. They replaced what women wore for years before, the corset. The bra most common form of undergarment. Though camisoles and chemises are still being used and may be being used more often than the bra. Could the camisole replace the bra? Probably not.

The reason being is that for women who have larger size breasts that fall into the bigger size and cup size, can’t wear a camisole and then depend on it for support. A bra is designed to help women with this problem. The bras alleviate back problems for women who have much larger chests than most. The bra also provides a more youthful look at your body as seen with clothes on. They help shape and slim the breasts.

There are different types of bras, the padded bra and the push up bra for women who think they don’t fill out a shirt good enough. These types of bras are used as fashion statements. But the bras that are made with reinforced straps and a thicker clasp are made to help women get the support they need. There are silk, satin, lace and cotton material bras just to name a few. You can find them in any department store or any store that has a lingerie department.
